Intended for designers and developers interested in visualizing data or creating dynamic imagery, David Brooks will cover the pros and cons of using Flash, SVG and canvas without getting too deep in code. His presentation will be an overview of in-browser drawing technologies for practical and artistic purposes. David will also look at some of the available libraries and the work of people at the forefront of these technologies.
Background
Growing up in rural Michigan, David Brooks was forced to choose between sports and computers… he chose computers. In high school he was one of the popular kids, holding the coveted title of “President of the Computer Club.”
In college, David studied Spanish, focusing on the culture and literature of Latin America. He later earned a Masters Degree in Intercultural Studies.
By day, David is a web designer and developer with an overactive interest in photography. At night, he annoys his wife and puts his daughter to sleep by writing electronic music and talking about technology.
